The Good

All proceeds from the Artisan Series go to P.S. Arts, dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity for children and youth by providing arts education in systemically under-resourced public schools and communities.

The Process

Johan says:

Each of my projects are very dear to me, and this one is no exception. This crew of goofballs where made with blood, sweat, tears and love.

The process involved sculpting each piece out of air dry clay. As the clay hardens its sanded down by hand using multiple grits to get a smooth surface. The pieces are then painted with acrylics and a coat of high gloss varnish. The final step is the hand painted smile/frown.

This band of fumblers captures the ups and downs of life. With various constellations, there’s no limit to how happy, sad or mad you make them and will bring a touch of humour and playfulness to your space.

The Artist

Johan Eriksson is a Swedish designer and animator currently based in Brooklyn, where he brings his passion for bold, stylised design and creative storytelling to life. Johan's love for characters and commitment to playful art brings out a childlike whimsy to his work. While dedicated to pushing his boundaries he never loses sight of the joy and wonder that inspired him in the first place.
